In the evening, your first adventure of your holiday is an evening snowmobile safari through the frozen landscapes in search of the magical northern lights. (Two people will share a snowmobile and takes turns in driving.) With a little luck, the sky will be clear, the moon and stars will be shining and the mysterious dancing lights will make an appearance. During a break in the tour, you will learn more about the northern lights and life in Lapland from your guide as you enjoy some hot beverages and light snacks around a campfire.

Spend the next five nights at the hotel in Levi.

    * Please note that the northern lights are a natural phenomenon so sightings cannot be guaranteed.

    Highlights Highlights
  • Day 2: Mushing with the Huskies

A short ride from Levi brings you to a husky kennel, where many friendly and hard-working dogs are waiting to give you an enthusiastic welcome. Before departing on the thrilling dogsled excursion, your guide will provide a basic lesson on how to control your huskies and sled, which you will share with another participant taking turns as driver and passenger. Back at the kennel you can enjoy some hot berry juice around an open fire with the head musher before returning to town.

  • Day 3: Snowmobile Safari to the Snow Village

Experience the thrill of snowmobiling through snowy Lapland with today’s tour, offering panoramic views of beautiful lakes and forest landscapes along the way. (Two people will share a snowmobile and takes turns in driving.) This tour also includes a break for lunch in a wilderness restaurant and a visit to the amazing Lainio Snow Village, a fascinating complex of ice and snow. Covering about 20,000 square metres, the Snow Village features a restaurant and bar and unique hotel rooms and suites as well as other structures like slides and sculptures, made of nothing but crystallized water. Note: This excursion is suitable only for children aged 15 and over.
*Optional upgrade: Overnight at the Snow Village
Why not top off your Arctic experience with a night at the Snow Village? Because of the good isolating features of snow, the indoor temperature of the Snow Village remains between -2 and -5 degrees Celsius regardless of the outdoor temperature. There are approximately 30 rooms, all made of ice and snow. Suites with different themes are also available.

  • Day 4: Skiers Paradise in Levi

Today and tomorrow are free for you to explore the area’s excellent skiing possibilities. At Levi, you can ski without queuing on well-kept pistes all over the fell. The varied landscape is ideal both for beginners and skiing stars, from the bunny slopes at Kids’ Land to the Levi Black World Cup piste. Levi has a total of 43 varied pistes covering about 44 kilometres. These pistes are colour-coded as follows: blue for beginners, red for those who have mastered the basics, black for experts and green for transition routes. Taking you up the fell are two gondolas, one chair lift, 14 T-bar lifts, six stick lifts for children and four rope lifts for children. All equipment can be rented on the spot; no advanced reservations needed.

  • Day 5: More free time for skiing

Today is another free day for you to explore the area’s excellent skiing possibilities. You can also improve your techniques here at the ski school, with instructions in downhill skiing, snowboarding, telemark skiing or cross-country skiing. As for fans of cross-country skiing, the illuminated ski tracks and long seasonal snow cover provide excellent conditions. During these days you can also choose to add more optional activities to your package from our selection of day tours in Levi. Please note that we recommend booking these well in advance.

  • Day 6: Departure

Today you are transferred back to Kittilä airport for your departure flight.

We learned so much and experienced unique customs

…Our total experience for all tours was very memorable. We learned so much and experienced unique customs and traditions and the Finns and Sami people were very friendly and informative. This is one experience I did not have on my bucket list, but glad we had the opportunity to experience such a wonderful time. Efficient tour operators from booking to the actual tours themselves made it a wonderful winter holiday experience. Thank you.

Sleep soundly, in the accommodation type of your choice, and wake up ready to enjoy another day of exploration.
